Start/Finish & Course

The start/finish is on Montrose Avenue (4400 N), east of Lake Shore Drive, just north of Montrose Harbor in Lincoln Park.

Courses are USATF certified

Getting There

Some parking is available at Montrose Harbor, however walking, bicycling, or taking public transportation is strongly encouraged. Bike racks are available at the race site.

Awards

Awards will be presented to the overall winners and the top 3 finishers in each age group (male and female). Awards will also be presented to the top finishing female, male, and coed teams.

Age Categories

Male and Female: 24 and under, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.

Results

Each 5K and 10K finisher will be mailed personal results including finish time, place in age group, and overall place. Race results will be posted to the Proud to Run web site.

Race Teams

At the race you can form a team. There is no additional team fee. Team categories include all-male, all-female, and coed (two male/two female) teams with four runners. To participate as a team, choose a team captain and have them complete a team card which will be available at the race-day registration tent before the start of the event.

Fees

$25 if paid in advance, or $28 on race day. ($2.50 discount for CARA members, if paid in advance)

Packet Pick-up and Registration

All registered participants receive a Proud to Run T-shirt as part of their packet. A gear check, drinks and snacks will be provided at the race site.

CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association)

Proud To Run 2007 is a CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association) Registered Race. CARA Registered Races are events that agree to adhere to a stringent list of standards. These standards are designed to ensure a well-managed race that meets runner's needs. These standards cover planning, registration, set up, the course, results, and more. The ultimate goal is to ensure that a race is safe for runners and meets their needs.
