Minutes From Transition Meeting
Here's something new. To keep the membership as abreast of current club activities as possible I thought I'd post the minutes from this week's transition meeting online. If you have any comments let me know at: frfw.aidstation@gmail.com
1. The meeting started with Stephen Bingham congratulating himself and the 2009 board for an excellent Holiday party. The accolades were well deserved.
2. We have collected $125 to be donated to NPR by Frontrunners in memory of Bob Lesh. We will present the donation at Bob Lesh's memorial and will continue collecting money until that date.
3. Norm has done a good job getting Sports Friday off the ground. This monthly happy hour event is aimed to connect all Chicago's gay and lesbian sporting clubs together. As Team Chicago is already an umbrella group from Chicago's lesbigay sports Norm has been arranging for them to take over. The president-elect is following up on the status of this.
4. Norm explained the rocket science of how to ensure that new visitors to the Totem Pole could be kept abreast of our club activities.
5. John Berton will be transferring control of the mailing list over to Jim Richter. He is addressing all outstanding issues before handing it over.
6. Our treasurer, James Tung, stated that the club started the year with a balance of $12,702.29 and at the end of November had $11,299.39. Not bad, considering the expense of the Midwest Frontrunner Weekend.
7. John Jones, the president-elect, briefly outline his agenda for the coming year. His goals include more house parties for the monthly socials, at least one additional fun run per month at a location other than the Totem Pole, and getting a new club t-shirt for the coming year.
8. Corbin will put together an article for the newsletter to let members know how they can join us on Facebook.
9. The president-elect has not yet set a January Social, the outgoing President kindly pointed out. Jim mentioned the previously discussed ice skating at Wrigley Field (technically outside of Wrigley) if a house party is undoable.
10. Next meeting is on Tuesday, January 12.
