Do you hang out in Saugatuck? September 29 is the Apple Cider Century, another fun organized bike ride with 25, 50, 75 and 100 mile options. Register at: www.applecidercentury.com.
Here Comes The Two-Stepper
It's time to put you best leather-soled foot forward again. FR/FW returns to Charlie's Monday, August 23 for an evening of two-stepping, line dancing and best of all - for most of us - lessons. The fun begins at 7pm and lasts until 9pm or as long as your yippie-ki-yi-ay holds out. Charlie's is at 3706 N Broadway.
Sundae, Cherry Sundae
Global warming may be debatable, but one thing is for sure - this has been one of the hottest summers on record for Chicago. But what can we do about it? Have an ice cream social! Okay. Roland, our wonderful host for our annual game nights, has offered up his home for a summer social. All you have to do is bring your favorite topping; we'll supply the ice cream (the bottoming?). It's all in your August newsletter.
Sunday, August 22

Remember The Alamo!
Come watch an outdoor showing of "PeeWee's Big Adventure" on Cricket Hill in Lincoln Park. The movie starts at dusk - approximately 8:04pm - and I'll be staking out a plot of ground for prime viewing by 7:30. (I will cede any unclaimed ground to other movie goers watch the film begins. So FR/FWs show up on time!)
"Double Indemnity" Movie In The Park
The club will be heading out tonight to watch classic cinema under the stars. Billy Wilder’s “Double Indemnity” is showing on Wednesday. This1944 film was nominated for 7 Oscars and stars Barbara Stanwyck, Edward G Robinson and Fred MacMurray. (I checked Weather.com and the forecast isn't good at this moment. The movie is at the Park District's discretion, so if it's raining or there's lightning the show will probably not go on. We'll see.)
